Since today is Thanksgiving day–Happy Thanksgiving!–I thought I’d launch a series I’ve been dying to do since the birth of Funk Digital Media. The Digital Love post series, or franchise, if we’re talking blog talk, is my way of sharing some of my favorite things on the web with you guys. Some of those things might relate to social media, some might be general business and others might be so I can virtually fist bump the bad asses who create brands that inspire and think outside of the box. These are all things I’m thankful for, so what better time than now, eh?

online businesses

I’m kicking it off with 3 businesses/outlets that I’m super stoked on every time they pop up in my inbox and Instagram feed.

1. Conscious Magazine – Ok, this one has a physical form as well, but Conscious magazine‘s site kills it when it comes to content and invoking deep thoughts and warm emotions. I’m not one to be completely obsessed with online quotes, but the ones Conscious places on their Instagram get me every time. They’re trying to make the world a better place through word, action and awareness. We all need a little of that in our lives. But how does this relate to your business? Well if you’re trying to build a conscious brand, then duh, they have everything you need. But they also offer a slew of great tips for any business, like this one on creatively marketing your ideas.

2. ILoveCreatives – There are so many reasons ILoveCreatives tops our list. They keep us in the know for all things amazing in Los Angeles (and other cities as well), they expose us to cool new brands and they put us in touch with businesses and creatives who want to build awesomeness. AND all of it is so nicely packaged in a weekly email to our inboxes. If that’s not enough for you, then there are the resources they offer. No matter where you’re at, they can help you budget better, take the next step in your business and pick a look for your company website. See, crushing it! It’s the one email I’m making sure doesn’t end up in the spam folder.

3. SocialTimes – So the first two were all creative and hip and this one seems a little dry. What gives, Crista? Well, sometimes you just have to get down to work and indulge in reports from your field! Enter SocialTimes. I can’t tell you how many past employees I’ve had sign up for this social media newsletter from Adweek. It gives you all of the greatest stories about the digital world all in one. If a new platform launches, you’ll know. If you want specifics about Facebook ad buying, they’ve got it. How could I not be thankful for a platform that keeps me on my toes when it comes to the fast changing digital world? If you want to make sure all your bases are covered, you can also sign up for SmartBrief for Social Business emails, or any SmartBrief email really–they cover news in a spectrum of industries.
